The Leicestershire-headquartered UK arm of luxury bathroom fittings maker ROCA has blamed Brexit for falling back into the red, newly filed results have revealed.
The Coalville-based business, which employs more than 90 people, returned to profit in 2015 for the first time in eight years when it generated a pre-tax profit of £1.5m compared to a loss of £266,000 a year before.
However, in newly filed accounts for the year to 31 December 2016, the company, which set up its UK base in 1993, made a loss of £608,000.
Revenue increased from £43m to £47m
A document accompanYING the results said: "The company had strong growth in sales in all its brands including the flagship ROCA brand. The direCTOrs are pleased that there were some service and product improvements within the company.
"There is concern with post-Brexit impact and whilst the adverse movement in the Euro did affect our buying prices and hence profitability, the company continued growing sales.
"The Roca group is actively focussing on growth in the UK and with future product innovation planned and use of the Roca London Gallery, which provides a world-class environment in the UK for display of Roca and all brand products, the company is considered well placed to meet its target of future growth."
